I discovered Human Design by chance more than three years ago, during a period when I was viewing my days in a very negative light.
I lived a relatively routine life in a big Italian city. I finished the first three years of university, got a stable job, and shared a nice one room apartment in the historic city centre with my boyfriend. From the perspective of societal norms, I was meeting all the requirements for a typical young couple’s life today.
However, unlike those who fully enjoyed everything Milan had to offer, I dreamed of a completely different way of life. While most people moved to this city to start a new job and build their careers, we saw our time there as a short-term adventure.
I used to get up early, put on “what the closet gave,” rush to the metro, and work for eight hours as an assistant at a real estate company. While I was traveling among the crowds of people who were rushing to work and getting ready for their morning meetings, I was wondering, “Am I really destined to live a life as predictable as mine? “
Graduating from college, finding stable job, working a full eight hours each day, coming home exhausted in the evening, making dinner, watching TV, sleeping, and repeating the cycle the following day.
When a person becomes stuck in a familiar thought cycle, it is extremely difficult on a mental level to admit the possibility of new perspectives. “Why do you have to risk? Don’t be a fool. You both have permanent jobs and live in the city’s historic center in a nice apartment. Keep in mind Italy’s high unemployment rate. Are you certain you want to accept responsibility and give up all of the security you’ve created for yourself? What will become of you? Where do you intend to go? And if this choice fails, how will you return to your previous life?” These kinds of thoughts, combined with a huge dose of anxiety, occupied my mind constantly.
When I was opening the door to our flat, I realized how tired and unmotivated I felt.
On the way back home, I used to enjoy listening to the reflections and stories of those who had the courage to make a change in their lives and step outside their comfort zones.
My dissatisfaction with my current circumstances led me to conclude that there must be other places and opportunities where I could enjoy greater freedom. However, even if I came to realize that there could be a different way to live, as I have been stuck in the same routines and limiting beliefs for a long time, the voice coming from those patterns was far louder than the voice of my inner hope and optimism.
At the time, I was going through a phase of life in which I was hoping that a radical change in my external circumstances would bring me the fulfillment and sense of joy I believed I was lacking.
It was at that time that I stumbled onto Human Design. Today, I can state with absolute honesty that the 60-minute conversation gave me a totally new perspective on myself and, by extension, on the circumstances I’d been in up until then, from which I could see no way out.
Discussing my strengths and talents did more than just introduce me to new opportunities; it has also strengthened my self-esteem and my ability to give my life greater purpose.
Since that day, I’ve immersed myself in the nuances of HD by studying it not just through courses in the Czech Republic but also from several foreign sources.
Human Design is, in my opinion, an excellent starting point not only for those seeking
self-knowledge but also for the those without sufficient faith in their own innate abilities.
This amazing tool revealed to me that there is a lot more beautiful reality than the one through which I viewed the world for many years. I had a profound insight when I realized that the thoughts and beliefs through which I experienced my everyday life may not have been accurate.
However, despite the fact that after years of study, I’ve begun doing readings professionally, I don’t believe that the reading should be viewed as the final destination.
I would be glad if everyone takes away from the reading precisely the insights, they find most useful to boost their sense of self-worth and, eventually, release some of the limiting beliefs that have been holding them back for years.
